A Pet's Health Scare

What a busy week I have had. I can't usually say that, but this week I can. On Tues. evening, we noticed that Clemmie's little dog, Skeeter, could hardly walk. He couldn't stand up on his back legs. Our first thought was that a snake had bit him....but there was no sign of a bite. We got a big box and brought him inside for the night. He ate his food and drank water, but he couldn't stand. The next morning Clemmie and I took him to the vet and he wanted to keep him. Skeeter looked so scared, but it was best to leave him. We went today and picked him up......he was so glad to see us! Dr. Watson (the vet) said that it was tick paralysis. We really hadn't seen that many ticks on him, but as long as Skeeter was better.......that was all that mattered. He was so glad when we got him home! I think that sometimes we take our pets for granted, but when they get hurt or sick......it really hits home just how much a part of our family they really are!!

What's with the Blog name?

I figure that y'all are wondering about the name of the blog. Well, Sammy Sue was the nickname that one of my late uncles always called me. My real name is Tammy Sue, but for some reason my Uncle Doug always called me Sammy Sue. He was the only one to ever call me by this name and I guess it was just something special to me. You know something that was mine and only mine. In fact, he continued to call me Sammy Sue right up until his death a few years ago. It's funny but I actually called him Uncle Duck....I figure that started because I couldn't say Doug. Needless to say when I got older I began calling him by his correct name ( I guess that I didn't want to appear immature), but I never stopped being his Sammy Sue. The 63 part comes from the fact that I was born in 1963. I don't know why I tacked 63 on to the name ...... I guess I just liked the way it sounded. LOL
